Individual Therapy

Understand your past and improve your self esteem in the present

You’ve probably been having a hard time for a while, and you’re looking for a therapist because you’re ready to make some changes in your life. Whether you’re overwhelmed with feelings of anxiety, grieving a loved one, or stressing about what to do once you graduate from college, I’m here to help.

Maybe what you’re going through feels messy and hard to describe, but you know you need someone to talk to about it.

All of that is welcome. I will meet you wherever you are on your journey.

My work is grounded in attachment theory, narrative therapy, and parts work. I’ll help you explore the stories you’ve been telling about yourself since childhood and the roles you’ve taken on in different relationships throughout your life. Together we’ll explore how you can shift the narratives that keep you feeling stuck and support you in telling a more loving, strength-focused story of who you are.

Heal your own childhood wounds to feel more confident as a parent

I love working with parents, either as couples or individuals. The early years of parenting bring some of the most transformative, beautiful, and stressful moments of your life. You may feel overwhelmed and isolated with a new baby, or notice yourself getting frustrated with your toddler’s behavior and responding in ways you don’t feel good about. You might see your kid struggling with how to express big emotions and not know how to support them.

One of the most powerful ways you can show up for your children is by taking care of yourself. Seriously. Part of that means learning about how your own childhood affects your relationships with your kids. In therapy, I will support you in understanding how your early experiences have impacted you, and this will make it easier for you to show up as the parent you want to be. This process will also help you to have compassion for yourself and feel confident in different areas of your life.

As a parent of two young children, I know how hard it can be to prioritize making time for yourself to actually schedule things for yourself. To make that easier, I offer postpartum home visits for new parents. I am also happy to meet virtually or do walk and talk sessions with your baby in a stroller if they’re small enough for that to work for you. It’s important to me to make therapy as accessible as possible for you, and I’m up for getting creative about what that looks like.
